J. JEFFREY RIGGS

Principal

Jeff Riggs, founding partner of Baron Properties and principal in Mountain West Industrial Properties. He is responsible for corporate strategy, equity and debt sponsorship and capital relations. He has also been active in the commercial mortgage banking business for 35 years as President of Essex Financial Group and its predecessor companies. Previously, he was a founding partner of Metropolitan Homes from 1992 to 1999 where he constructed and sold over 500 homes in the Denver area. He currently holds several board positions with local profit and non-profit organizations.

SCOTT FISHER

Principal

Scott Fisher is a founding partner of Mountain West Industrial Properties and partner in Baron Properties. He is responsible for structuring and negotiating acquisitions, equity and debt sponsorship's and corporate oversight. Scott was previously a principal of Essex Financial Group, completing in excess of one billion dollars in debt and equity transactions.

LIZ SCHLOSS

President of Operations

Liz Schloss is responsible for oversight of the property operations, assistance of acquisitions and sourcing new management opportunities for Baron Properties. With over 17 years industry experience in a successful leadership role, Ms. Schloss background includes multifamily housing operations, new development, acquisitions, new business and strategic development of marketing and revenue management. Prior to joining Baron Properties, Ms. Schloss worked for a variety of large and small companies in multiple markets throughout the nation in the multifamily industry. She attended school at Auburn University and University of Phoenix, where she holds her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

KAREN KINSLINGER

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Karen is responsible for the finance, accounting, risk management and human resources functions at Baron Property Services and the Essex Financial companies. Karen has over 15 years of experience managing these areas in multiple industries, including over 10 years of experience in the real estate industry. Over the course of her career, Karen has led numerous financing, acquisition and disposition efforts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Finance from the University of Denver.

SHELLY GRIGGS

Regional Manager - Arizona

Shelly Griggs supervises a diverse portfolio of Phoenix communities. Collectively, she has over seventeen years experience in Arizona, Nevada and Utah markets. Ms. Griggs has worked in the Multi-Family and Single Family rental industry and is experienced in Lease-Up ventures as well as multi-million dollar rehab projects. In addition to being CAM designated, Shelly also retains her Broker License in Arizona and Nevada. She has overseen portfolios of up to 5,000 units for owner and fee clients and specializes in the re-positioning of distressed properties.

 

CANDACE MCDONALD

Regional Manager - Arizona

Candace McDonald is one of two Regional Managers in the Phoenix area and supervises a diverse portfolio of communities. Candace has over twenty three years of experience in Multi-Family Housing, with twenty of those years spent between the Tucson and Phoenix markets. Ms. McDonald has experience in Student Housing, Conventional Family Housing, Section 42 and rehab projects. Candace joined the Baron team in 2013 as a Community Manager and was promoted to Regional Manager July 2016.

ERIKA FREEMAN-DANIELS

Regional Manager - Colorado/Texas

Erika Freeman-Daniels serves as Regional Manager over the Colorado and Texas portfolios. Ms. Daniels has more than twenty years’ experience overseeing multifamily properties, reflecting expertise with a vast range of communities and ownerships. Ms. Daniels is a Colorado native, having graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University, and has earned the Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor designation from the National Apartment Association Education Institute. She also holds her Colorado Real Estate broker license.

 

CHRISTY LINDSTROM

Operations Manager

Christy Lindstrom is the Operations Manager for Baron Properties. She began her real estate career in 1996, joining the Baron team in 2005 as a Property Manager. In 2010 she was promoted to her current position as Operations Manager where she supports the President of Operations, Regional Managers, trains and mentors the on-site teams, and oversees all property management software and systems operations. Additionally, Christy is instrumental in ensuring the smooth transition in the acquisitions and dispositions of properties.

JONATHAN MASON

Capital Projects Manager

Jonathan Mason is the Capital Projects Manager for Baron Properties. He directly oversees all facets of capital improvements and apartment renovations in both the Houston and Phoenix markets. Jonathan ensures exceptional product quality by maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, contractors and the on-site management teams.

JON FRANKLIN

Vice President of Acquisitions & Finance

Jon Franklin has approximately 12 years of experience in residential real estate and property management. With a primary focus on corporate finance and financial planning and analysis, Jon has participated in numerous large transactions, including an IPO, a “go private” transaction, several portfolio/property refinances, and numerous acquisitions and dispositions. Jon’s current role includes balance sheet management and oversight of Baron’s existing operating portfolio of multifamily and industrial assets. In addition, he works closely with the acquisitions team to underwrite, analyze and determine the feasibility of potential acquisitions. He is also heavily involved in the due diligence, capital raising and closing activities on all transactions. Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Lehigh University.

IAN NICHOLS

Director of Accounting

Ian Nichols is the Director of Accounting for Baron Properties and Mountain West Industrial Properties overseeing accounting for the portfolio. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and went on to earn his CPA license in the state of Colorado. Ian has a background in public accounting while working for KPMG Denver where he focused on real estate clients and has worked in various capacities at other Colorado based real estate companies throughout his 10 year career. Ian joined the Baron and Mountain West team in 2016. Ian and his wife, Lauren, enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with their two sons, Lawson and Maxwell.

NIKKI ERBELE

Director of Acquisitions & Development

Nikki Erbele is the multifamily Director of Acquisitions & Development for Baron Properties. She is responsible for overseeing all of the development projects for Baron. Nikki joined Baron Properties and Mountain West Industrial Properties in 2013 and has worked in a variety of roles including acquisitions, portfolio management and overseeing renovations on existing assets. Nikki has over 14 years of experience in the real estate industry including brokerage, investment management, portfolio management and currently renovation and development of multifamily assets. Nikki has her undergrad degree in finance from Miami of Ohio and her Masters of Real Estate & Construction Management from University of Denver.

BRETT ERB

Acquisitions Associate

Brett Erb is an Acquisition Analyst for both Baron Properties and Mountain West Industrial Properties. He is responsible for financial underwriting, market analysis, due diligence and investment marketing for lenders and investors on new deals in Baron and MWIP’s core markets. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, he spent two years as a research analyst at Cushman & Wakefield in Denver. Brett has a Bachelor’s degree in finance and a Certificate in real estate from the University of Colorado.

WILL TOMLIN

Acquisitions Analyst

Will Tomlin is an Acquisitions Analyst for Baron Properties and Mountain West Industrial Properties. His responsibilities include the financial underwriting of potential acquisitions, portfolio assessments and reporting, preparing investment presentations for lenders and investors, conducting market analysis, and assisting in the due diligence process. Will earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, with a certificate in commercial real estate.

MATTHEW RIGGS

Acquisitions Officer

Matthew Riggs is the Acquisitions Officer tasked with identifying and analyzing investment and development opportunities for Baron Properties and Mountain West Industrial Properties. His role focuses on the determining project feasibility and yield expectations for potential investments and developments, as well as actively growing and cultivating relationships in order to locate potential transactions and niches within the company’s target markets.

MIKE HICKS

Asset Manager

Mike Hicks is the Asset Manager for Mountain West Industrial Properties. Mike manages approximately 1.8 million square feet of industrial and warehouse properties throughout Colorado, Texas and Arizona. He is responsible for the leasing, property management, budgeting, vendor relationships and financial forecasting for the industrial portfolio. Mike worked as a licensed commercial leasing associate in Wichita, KS prior to joining Mountain West in 2013 and earned his bachelor's degree in finance with a real estate emphasis from Wichita State University..

ARIANA BOURQUE

Marketing Manager

Ariana Bourque is the Marketing Manager for the Colorado, Texas and Arizona regions. Prior to her current role, Ariana spent several years in property management where her experience includes but not limited to, leasing, marketing, resident retention, resident event coordination, and management of advertising and social media platforms. Additionally, Ariana has completed college credited English, Communication and Creative Writing courses. With Marketing trends constantly evolving, she continues to adapt and implement innovative techniques in this ever-changing field.
